Jefferson Matters: Main Street’s design committee will host a Business After Hours event Monday, Aug. 8, at the Elks lodge in Jefferson.
This event will focus on the building design guidelines approved by the Jefferson city council in January. City administrator Mike Palmer and city building inspector Nick Sorensen will present the guidelines with information about the importance of historic preservation.
Jefferson has been involved in the Main Street Iowa program since 2012 and through this program, has resources and examples of how similar guidelines have made a huge impact in the downtown districts. Palmer and Sorensen will also be able to answer questions concerning the guidelines.
A cash bar with snacks will be available at 5:15 pm with the speakers presenting from 5:45 to 6:30 pm. All interested are invited to this free event.
